Variable Speed Geneva Disk, a GBC (Great Ball Contraption) by Takanori Hashimoto
Takanori Hashimoto GBC modules are always relying on remarkeable mechanisms. And his last creation, "Variable Speed Geneva Drive" is no exception to the rule!
This awesome marble run machine is composed of two main sections.
The first section is an entry ramp on which is mounted a spiral lift. Inspired from Akiyuki Spiral lift, the mechanism from this section is bring the GBC basketball and soccer balls to the top of the GBC module.
The second section is the most sophisticated part of this amazing ball machine: a Geneva Drive mechanism slides a tray from left to right in jerky movements. An inclined ramp is attached to the sliding tray: this ramp allows the GBC bales to slide to an exit ramp which inclines when the tray reaches the far right of the GBC module.
